13th November 2018   It's been a bit of a frustrating start to the jumps season as the ground is still too quick on most courses for us to have many runners. The few we have run have gone well though; Cornborough ran yet another great race to finish 2nd to an improving horse at Wetherby and Take a Break won at Carlisle making it 2 from 2 since he joined us, below is a picture of him on his ...

18th October 2018 It was great to get a couple of winners last week, the first was Carlovian who was trying 5 furlongs for the first time since he came to us. He had won 3 seven furlong races for us previously but since being fitted with a visor he has shown a lot more speed so we felt the drop to 5f was worth a go. I have to say after he missed the start I thought he had no chance but he fo...

1st October 2018 Its been a quite few weeks for us on the racecourse with not too many runners. Cornborough won well at Chester last month, he has been a great horse for us and has now won 7 races and just under £50,000 in prize money. He was a great purchase costing only £6000 as an unraced two year old. Below is a picture of him and some of the Cornborough Racing Club members in the...

13th August 2018 My blog has been slightly (ok massively) neglected this year, the last few months have been really busy for all the team. The horses have been running well and since May we have had 18 winners (jump and flat) from just 99 runners which equates to an 18% strike rate. A couple of the many highlights have been seeing Rickyroadboy progress well winning 3 races so far this season, Bit...

13th November 2017 Last week saw two winners sent out from the yard. Rock Island Line was the first, he won really nicely at Wolverhampton under former champion jockey Paul Hanagan. "Rocky" was bred by his owner Jill Gittus out of a mare my Dad trained called Diablo Dancer, it takes a lot of patience to breed a racehorse and breeding a winning one is not an easy thing to do for a breeder with onl...

23rd August 2017 My blog has been somewhat neglected over the last few months so it's about time for an update! Miss Conway won at Hexham on Sunday which made it 3 consecutive wins, she looked better than ever winning by 6 lengths under a good ride from Jamie Hamilton. They have struck up a really good partnership and together their form figures this season are 6132111. She goes back to Hexham w...

12th June 2017   The horses have been running well on the whole recently, and we have a busy week coming up with a  runner or two on Thursday, three at Aintree on Friday, three at Hexham on Saturday and one at York. Plenty of them with chances so I am hoping for at least one winner between them!   Woody Bay makes his season re-appearance at York on Saturday in a race that he won...

2nd May 2017 Miss Conway made it 23 winners for us this jumps season, she lead from flag fall under Jamie Hamilton. It was one of the best rounds of jumping I have seen from one of our horses for a long time. What made this win extra special is that she was bred by my parents out of a mare my Dad trained called Miss Pross. We have seen her grow from a foal and done all her training right from the...

16th April 2017 Out horses are definitely coming back to form. Our first flat runners will come on a lot for their first races but nearly all have run decent races, the pick of them was Bit of a Quirke who finished second at Pontefract, he has four 2nd places to his name now and his first win looks like it will be coming very soon!   We had a great day at Wetherby on Thursday with Mr Snooz...

5th April 2017 Great to see Trustan Times back in the winner's enclosure this week. He was sent to me towards the end of last year with the aim of running him in the Scottish Grand National this month, it has looked fairly unlikely at times but he showed he still retains a good amount of ability at the age of 11 by winning at Kelso with a lot of things against him. The distance was well short of ...
