Great to see Trustan Times back in the winner's enclosure this week. He was sent to me towards the end of last year with the aim of running him in the Scottish Grand National this month, it has looked fairly unlikely at times but he showed he still retains a good amount of ability at the age of 11 by winning at Kelso with a lot of things against him. The distance was well short of his optimum and the ground unsuitable but he travelled through the race with ease and won going away at the finish. He is now entered for the Ayr showpiece this month and if he gets in he will carry a lower weight than when he finished 3rd in it in 2014. Below is a picture of him in the winners enclosure with Marcus who led him up and his jockey Jake Greenall.

The flat season is now underway and our first runner Rock Island Line ran a pleasing race on debut, next week sees a few more of the flat horses out and I'm sure the first winner of the campaign is not far away....
