It's been a bit of a frustrating start to the jumps season as the ground is still too quick on most courses for us to have many runners. The few we have run have gone well though; Cornborough ran yet another great race to finish 2nd to an improving horse at Wetherby and Take a Break won at Carlisle making it 2 from 2 since he joined us, below is a picture of him on his way to victory at Carlisle.

One horse who has been very busy over the past few weeks is Carlovian, he has now had 8 races in the last 10 weeks and is due to run again at Wolverhampton on Friday. His recent form figures read 533142 and he looks certain to win again soon. The drop back to sprinting distances and the application of a visor have really helped him, last year he was finishing strongly over 1 mile 1 on heavy ground, it shows how difficult it can be to find a horse's optimum distance.

We are fairly busy in the yard at the moment as we have brought in a few 2 year olds that were too immature to train in the summer, they will be trained with a view to running them in January on the all weather. We also now have three yearlings on the go, they seem to be a really nice bunch and one very forward type, a Music Master colt, who should be out early next flat season.

Hoping we get some more rain soon so the jumpers can really get going!
