Last Sunday was our annual Owners' Day, we had a really good day with all the horses parading in the yard followed by lunch cooked by Feast Yorkshire which was excellent as usual. Like the owners I love watching the horses parade, especially as they were looking so well. I have said before but I really think we have a great team of jumpers this season and I can't wait to get them on the track, not long now as most of them will be ready to go in October.
The flat horses still seem in good form even though they have been on the go for a while now. Woody Bay won at Catterick last week on his 11th start of the season, he seems to be improving all the time and may contest a valuable event at either Chester or Haydock this Saturday.
Adam's Ale ran really well in the Ayr Bronze Cup finishing 7th of 25. He will now head to York next month where he will hopefully gain a win which has eluded him so far this season. He has hardly run a bad race this year and really deserves to get his head in front.
Kodicil is proving to be one of the most versatile horses in the yard, he won over fences at Uttoxeter yesterday under a great ride from Dougie Costello, he has now won on the flat, over hurdles and now over fences, winning 8 races for us in total. He has been with us since he was a yearling so it's great to see him still thriving as a 7 year old. Below is a picture of him being lead into the winners enclosure by Harry.
