Not a good day at the races today with both horses finishing last, so disappointing after all the work the team have put in over the weeks and months with these horses. Also not a great day for the owners as both horses were expected to go much better.  Duran Fentiman who rode Home Flyer reported  that he slipped coming out of the stalls and hurt himself as he didn't feel right and sensibly he eased him up at half way. Mr Gatsby also ran badly but can't quite put my finger on why yet.

It was a better day back at the yard as one of the horses owned by Cornborough Racing Club, Cape Hideaway, had his first day's ridden work after a freak accident left him with a nasty cut on his leg and 3 months on the sidelines, he was a winner of a Thirsk maiden last year and is a really exciting prospect for this season. He will hopefully be ready to run in around 6-8 weeks. Below is a picture of him with Harry onboard.

Tim has been working with the young horses from the sales, one has now been ridden round a stable but the other two are a little way off that yet. The two year old filly by Flemensfirth  is proving to be a bit tricky, after two hours in the long reins she finally decided to do as she was asked!

Later this week Craggaknock who was an impressive winner last time has engagements at Haydock and York. Cornborough, another Racing Club horse, is also entered at York in an Amateur rider's race,  Harry Kinder who works at the yard, will be on board having his first ride on the flat  after a few placed rides in point to points.
